Did I enjoy this book - yes. Would I recommend - yes. That said, I thought for an ebook it was a bit pricey as it would only cost about $1 more and you could buy the paperback and there was an issue (for me) with the way it went from one person's pov to the next which caught me off guard at times as it happened so quickly -- e.g. one minute reading from H's pov, the next h's pov. But it is what it is.I really enjoyed the plot and the way the hero had to learn what love is and to accept love. Jake is manipulating, jealous and possessive and coming from his background, it is a no brainer he acts the way he does (the beginning of the book is quite harsh as you learn exactly what Jake's life was like as he grew up).Emma meets Jake under traumatic circumstances and Jake uses it to his advantage. I can't say there is definitely no cheating in this book as Jake is with other woman after he meets Emma, but once he decides to make a move on her, he only has eyes for her and there is no cheating. But he does see Emma as "his" right from the start and very much has the "MINE" mentality. If you looking for fast burn, this is not the book for you as it only really gets steamy from around the 50% mark but there is a good amount of steam from there on.I admit that I did not read this series in the correct order and that this is the first book I have read of the "Leopard People". Therefor, I can tell you that you do not need to read the previous book to enjoy this one and it can be read as a standalone. Would I still read the rest of the series - that will depend of the finances.
