It's important to note that this contains two separate but related X-Men arcs from the latter half of Claremont's run. The first introduces the oppressive nation of Genosha, while the second shows the X-Men's conflict with that government coming to a head. I recommend reading the "Inferno" and "Dissolution and Rebirth" collections in between them if you want to be a completionist. A lot does happen between the two arcs, with characters coming and going and being transformed. Overall it's an exciting setup with some heavy implications in terms of what it would mean if this dystopia spread to the whole X-Men world. The main villain is a bit one-note after a while, and like a lot of these crossovers it would be better if it were shorter. The art is great when it's Jim Lee, but the other artists on the crossover suffer in comparison.
